I began playing piano at the age of 4. My mom, who attended the New England Conservatory of Music, got me started with classical music and hymns. My grandmother got me interested in fretted instruments by showing me some chords on a 25¢ plastic ukulele. I went on to study guitar with Sal Salvador, the great jazz guitarist for the Stan Kenton band. The rest, as they say, is history.
